SMH4044



General Description

The SMH4044EVAL kit is a fully functional evaluation board designed to demonstrate the features of the
SMH4044 CompactPCI® Hot Swap Controller with I2C™ bus and IPMB bus support. The EVAL board manages up to 4 input voltage levels of +5V, +3.3V, +12V and -12V in a 10 Layer Extender Card for 3U Systems. Unlike similar products, the SMH4044 features on-board nonvolatile memory as well as Status and Configuration registers, making it truly 'User-Programmable'.
 

Several key functions are:

Hot Swaps +5V@5A, +3.3V@ 8A, +12V@1A and - 12V@1A

5V and 3.3V CBI and Bus/Card side Monitored

3.

+12V Bus/Card side Monitored

4.

User-Settable Voltage/Current set points with fault outputs (LOCAL_PCI_RST, LOCAL_PCI_RST#, FAULT#) and Healthy Outputs (HEALTHY#, SGNL_VLD#) on either host and card-sides.

5.

Undervoltage/Overvoltage (UV/OV) fault monitoring

6.

1V Pre-charge Reference, Pullup and Series Termination Resistors for conditioning the bus signal pins.

7.

Programmable Watchdog/Longdog timers.

8.

User-Programmable I2C™ interface to digitally control analog supervisory and sensor functions.

9.

LED visual indicators (10)

10.

Master Reset (PCI_RST#) momentary pushbutton.

11.

VGATE slew rate Potentiometer (ISLEW).

12.

CompactPCI™ IPMB Bus and Chassis Connectors.
