General
Description
The
SMH4802EVAL kit is a fully functional printed
circuit board designed to demonstrate all the
features of the SMH4802
Nonvolatile Hot-Swap (live-insertion) Controller.
The circuit operates over the full Telecom supply
range of -32 to -72VDC, soft-starting loads of up
to 4 amperes. The SMH4802EVAL also manages the
power-on delay of an external isolated DC-DC
converter in addition to many other useful Hot-Swap
functions and remote power on/off through the I2C
2-wire bus interface.

Several
key, user-configurable functions are:
1.
User-Configurable
under-voltage, over-voltage and
over-current limits.
2.
'Power
Good' output with programmable delay time
to assertion.
3.
Power
on/off I2C command
4.
Programmable
over-current filter response time to
prevent nuisance tripping.
5.
User
-Configurable 'Forced Shutdown' pin allows
secondary-side fault detection and orderly
shutdown.
