(Page 2 of 5):
SMT4004 Quad Tracking Power Supply Manager

SPECIAL NOTE: Because of the length of this Application Note, it has been divided into five pages to accomodate faster loading time. You may use the menu near the bottom of the page to jump to any of the five pages.

Register R0C, R0D, R0E, R0F - Card- Side Under-Voltage (UV2) Threshold Enable and Under-Voltage (UV2) Offset

Registers 0C, 0D, 0E and 0F are identical. These registers will either enable or disable the associated power management channels and whether the channels are set as soft start or tracking channels. Their contents also determine whether the card-side under-voltage (UV2) capabilities are enabled and the contents establish the card-side under-voltage (UV2) offset value for the VO1, VO2, VO3 and VO4 inputs, respectively.

Register R10 - Addressing and Slew Rate Control

Configuration Register 10 is used to configure the I2C addressing protocol for the SMT4004. Bit 7 determines whether the device will respond with an acknowledge to any bus request addressing its device type identifier, or whether it will only respond if the A2, A1 and A0 bits match the biasing of the external pins. Bit 6 selects the device type identifier to be used for the memory array. Register 10 also configures Tracker differential IRQ#s and slew rate control.

Notes 1. - This option is not recommended since the other channels that track the faulty channel should all shut down.
