SMS11 - Four Channel Voltage Monitor and Sequencer

INTRODUCTION

The SMS11 is an integrated voltage monitor and sequencer. It is capable of monitoring four channels and sequencing three channels with minimal external components. Two multiplexed pins SENSE/RESET# and SENSE1/VDD allow the SMS11 to provide multichannel sequencing and monitoring in a compact 8-pin SOIC or an 8-ball CSP package.

The SMS11 provides three enable outputs that sequence each channel on after the supply in the previous sequence position reaches its programmable threshold. Each enable output has a programmable active high/low logic level, and a programmable channel-to-channel delay.

A reset output is asserted once all supplies have been sequenced on and the monitored voltages are above the programmed threshold. The reset output has a assertion delay that allows it to be asserted after one of four programmable delays.

The monitoring function on the SMS11 allows the user to choose from 16 voltage threshold settings allowing a wide range of voltages to be sequenced. In addition, the SMS11 can be programmed to disable all supplies if an under voltage condition is present on any monitored supply.

A Graphical user interface and an evaluation board are available to expedite the design process.
