CAMPBELL,
CA -- June 01, 2001 -- Steven P. Borochoff, an
industry veteran with nearly 30 years of
telecommunications sales experience in both
semiconductor and communication systems, has been
tapped by Summit Microelectronics Inc. as its new
vice president of worldwide sales. Mr. Borochoff
will be responsible for cultivating Summit's global
market relationships through growth of Summit's
direct, distribution, and representative sales
channels. In addition, he will focus on developing
partner programs that enhance the company's level
of service to its customers. He reports to Chuck
Berghoff, president and CEO of Summit.

telecommunications industry leaders," said Chuck

Mr.
Borochoff joins Summit from Radisys Corporation
where he had been vice president of sales for the
Americas since 1999. In that position he directed
all North American sales activities of embedded
computers for the telecommunications and data
networking markets.
From
1993 until 1999, Mr. Borochoff held sales
management positions at Sun Microsystems, Inc.,
serving as that company's Americas sales director
during the last two years of his tenure there. Mr.
Borochoff held sales director positions at Rockwell
Semiconductor Systems Division and Cypress
Semiconductor Corporation prior to 1993. He began
his career at Fairchild Semiconductor
Corporation.
Mr.
Borochoff holds a BSEE degree from Georgia
Institute of Technology.
