Summit Microelectronics Selects Western Area Sales Director

CAMPBELL, CA -- February 13, 2002 -- Summit Microelectronics has named Daniel S. Olson as sales director for the Company's western area. Mr. Olson, a 22-year semiconductor industry veteran and established sales executive specializing in analog technologies, will drive direct and indirect sales channel activities supporting original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of communications infrastructure equipment and industrial controls. His area includes Western Canada, the Pacific Northwest, California, Nevada, and the Southwest. He reports to Steven Borochoff, Summit vice president of worldwide sales.

"Utilizing our expertise in programmable analog technologies, we help customers enhance product reliability and shorten design time," said Steven Borochoff. "Dan Olson's broad experience of matching analog solutions to a myriad of applications meshes with Summit's commitment to provide knowledge that customers can rely upon."

Prior to joining Summit, Mr. Olson was area sales director for Burr Brown's western region. From 1996 until 2000, he was area sales manager for Unitrode and led the sales operation through the transition following that's company's acquisition by Texas Instruments. Mr. Olson's other experience includes sales management positions at Temic Semiconductor and Texas Instruments.

Mr. Olson is based at the Summit headquarters in Campbell, California.
