- Summit
Microelectronics has
announced the appointment of
Evert Wolsheimer, PhD, to the
position of vice-president of
manufacturing and quality. Dr.
Wolsheimer reports to Summit
president and chief executive
officer, Patrick Brockett.
Before joining Summit, Dr.
Wolsheimer held a number of
executive positions at Xilinx,
with the most recent position of
vice-president of quality and
reliability. A member of the
executive team at Xilinx since
1991, he spearheaded the use of
outsourcing process development
and wafer manufacturing and
oversaw the company's product
engineering, process and
packaging development, foundry
collaborations, and
reliability.
Prior to Xilinx, Dr. Wolsheimer's
work included managing technology
development at LSI Logic and
marketing and R&D positions
at Philips. Dr. Wolsheimer holds
three patents and has authored
numerous articles. He has been a
member of the Fabless
Semiconductor Association's board
of directors since 1998. He holds
a PhD in semiconductor device
physics from the University of
Delft in the Netherlands.
