Senior Design Engineer

As a Senior Design Engineer you will work with other designers on BiCMOS programmable power management solutions for the largest customers in the world.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with a New Product Development team to drive product development activities from concept through production release.
  • Developing new analog powercircuits from concept through layout.
  • Improving design methodologies to ensure first-pass success and cost-effective solutions.
  • Mentoring less-experienced designers.

Requirements:

  • MSEE and 5+ years experience in switching regulator design.
  • General analog circuit design knowledge and semiconductor device physics and processing background.
  • Good communication skills & the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage priorities and time in a dynamic start-up work environment.
Senior Test Engineer

As a Senior Test Engineer you will be required to develop Automated Test Equipment (ATE) hardware and software for characterization and production testing of mixed signal power management products.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Generating test plans and defining test methodologies for new products.
  • Develop characterization and production test software and hardware on Automated Test Equipment.
  • Work closely with Design, Product and Applications engineers to debug, characterize and release new products to production.
  • Support production test requirements by maintaining test programs and debugging production test issues as they arise.
  • Work closely with Product & Quality Engineering on yield enhancement efforts; test cost reductions and failure analysis.

Requirements:

  • BSEE or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of semiconductor test experience developing test H/W and S/W for mixed signal power management products.
  • Knowledge of all phases of product development including hands-on first silicon debug, characterization testing and production release.
  • Good communication skills & the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and time in a dynamic start-up work environment.
Senior Product Engineer

As a Senior Product Engineer, you will characterize and optimize new mixed signal products.  This will include functionality verification, characterization testing, yield enhancement and manufacturing cost reduction. 

Responsibilities will include:

  • Working with a New Product Development team to drive product development activities from concept through to production release.
  • Characterize New Product device features and performance to match requirements.
  • Generate tools and methodologies for device analysis to support functional debug and yield analysis.
  • Cost reduction by continuous yield enhancement and manufacturing flow improvement.
  • Perform Failure Analysis on customer returned parts to identify root cause and implement corrective actions.

Requirements:

  • BSEE and 5+ years experience.
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong analog circuit design knowledge and semiconductor device physics and processing background.
  • Experience with semiconductor defect analysis and SEM characterization techniques, lab equipment and interface programming, data analysis and statistical process techniques.
  • Knowledge of all phases of product development including hands-on first silicon debug, characterization testing and production release to offshore test location.
  • Good communication skills & the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage priorities and time in a dynamic start-up work environment.

Senior Application Engineer

This is a leadership role defining and implementing best-in-class system solutions for Summit’s industry leading programmable power management integrated circuits.

Job Duties:

  • Work as part of cross-functional product development team to:
       - Help Marketing define products with lead customers
       - Validate/debug new silicon
       - Write IC datasheets
       - Design/debug standard and custom evaluation kits including users guides
  • Support sales with comprehensive design-in tools and phone, email and onsite support as required (up to 25% travel)
  • Characterize New Productdevice features and performance to match requirements.
  • Write application notes and articles
  • Mentor one or more junior engineers (management opportunities available as the company grows
  • Wear many “hats” in a fast-paced and successful start-up environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • BSEE (MSEE preferred) and 5+ years applications experience with switch-mode power management IC’s
  • Strong power system design skills including electrical, PCB layout, thermal design, and magnetics
  • Hands-on IC debug, validation and characterization experience
  • Competency with basic and advanced bench test equipment (experience with automated bench test environment such as Labview™ a plus)
  • Experience with simulation tools (PSPICE)
  • Proficiency with PC and MS-Office software (especially Excel data reporting)
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with external and internal customers
  • Ability to manage priorities and be flexible in a dynamic start-up environment
