Background

Summit Microelectronics is the leader in flexible, highly integrated power management solutions combining precision power regulation with sophisticated digital control in a single chip. The Company’s devices are found in a variety of consumer, communications and computing applications.

Summit’s unique programmable, non-volatile mixed-signal IC technology combined with a convenient GUI development environment allows for unparalleled functional and parametric flexibility in power supply design. This flexibility applied to common problems such as dynamic voltage/current control and intelligent battery charging, allows for significant system performance improvement while realizing drastic reductions in design effort.

Digital programmability enables high integration and system flexibility in a single chip - impossible with conventional “hard-wired” analog power ICs. Additionally, this integration reduces the bill-of-materials yielding the lowest total system cost and size. Summit solutions address the biggest challenges facing OEM developers today: increasing system functionality, performance and complexity accompanied by shrinking development time cycles.

Company History

Founded in January 1997, Summit is a privately held, well funded fabless semiconductor company headquartered in Sunnyvale, California with nearly 50 employees located around the world.

Engineering Quality and Design

Summit specializes in the design and manufacture of integrated circuits that incorporate both analog and digital technologies. Designing products that can integrate both technologies requires highly skilled engineers and a design environment that utilizes state-of-the-art equipment. Summit uses industry-standard design tools for simulation and modeling, which enable it to offer products with high quality and reliability levels.

Our innovative solutions address communications system attributes of performance and quality, while helping companies meet the challenge of shrinking time to market.

With more than 40 products dedicated to power management solutions, we are continually adding new devices to our portfolio.

Environmental Policy

Summit is committed to helping achieve and preserve environmental quality by maintaining an environmental management system (EMS). The EMS includes prevention of pollution, setting and reviewing environmental objectives and targets, continual improvement of environmental performance, and compliance with regulations and electronics industry requirements that pertain to the environment.
